On Deadly Haste:

Deadly Haste is a nice skill for those Assassins that wish to mix up their Deadly Arts travesties with regular Dagger attacks. Full-blown Assacasters spec 14DA and pack Deadly Paradox without giving it second thought, its nasty downside of no consequence since they are too weak to use Daggers anyway.

The main reason to run a hybrid build like this is, of course, to benefit from the poster child of everything that's wrong with Deadly Arts; [Dancing [email protected]]. Theoretical spec:

Deadly Arts.......... 12+1+1
Dagger Mastery..... 9+1
Critical Strikes....... 8+1
Inspiration............ 5

Compare:
[deadly [email protected]] VS [deadly [email protected]]

Damn near same results, longer duration, easier on the blue bar. The fact that DH is an enchantment as opposed to a Stance can be considered both an up- and a downside, easier to remove but opening up build possibilities (Golden Dagger attacks come to mind). More importantly: it doesn't shut down your stabby skills.

Note: spec includes Inspiration, for [lyssa's [email protected]]. One doesn't spec 14DA without the intention of spamming Dancing Daggers until their fingers bleed (don't even try to deny it). But, wielding Daggers, there are alternative means of energy management!

Happy tinkering!

[deadly paradox] - allows you to actually kill stuff since it effects all of sin skills ([entangling asp][signet of toxic shock] you know...).

[deadly haste] - allows you to....spam [dancing daggers]?

I chose the first, obv.

I said Hybrid, didn't I? Think of the Virulence build, which consisted mostly of DA skills, but had [Twisting Fangs] thrown in for good measure.

And yes, DH allows you to spam Dancing Daggers. Which has been the core tool of DA Sins since like.... forever.

I have began to use [iron palm][jagged strike][wild strike][way of the lotus][death blossom][deaths charge][shadow refuge][way of the empty palm] but I dont think its so good. The [way of the empty palm] skill is not so good with these attack skill but I think it can be useful with higher costs.

Way of the Empty Palm just screams "Twisting Fangs please!" Also, [[Black Spider Strike] is a high-cost leadskip if you can meet the condition.

Or you could just spam Repeating Strike over and over.

Well, it's not an Assassin elite, but it's unused. I was toying around with some random elites and gave this a try:

12+1+1 Dagger
10 Wind Prayers
8+1 Critical Strikes

[Onslaught][Leaping Mantis Sting][Jungle Strike][Trampling Ox][Falling Lotus Strike][Twisting Fangs][Natural Healing] -- [Resurrection Signet] or [Dash]

Yeah, Onslaught, I know. But it solves a few problems:

1. Lack of an appropriate IAS in general. Onslaught is stronger than [[Way of the Assassin] as far an IAS is concerned and doesn't take a stance slot which can be used for a number of other purposes (Dash in AB or RA if you neglect a self-heal gives a spammable IMS for capping/kiting).

2. Lack of a secondary that provides an IAS and a self heal. Monk secondary is decent for a self heal through [[Restful Breeze] and Warrior is typically used for [[Flurry] or [[Tiger Stance]. Either way, you limit yourself to one or the other.

3. A combination of IAS and IMS. Warriors in GvG saw [[Primal Rage] for a brief stint while it was effective and worth taking the double damage risk. Still, they have [[Frenzy] for IAS and [[Rush] for IMS (not worrying about cancel) within one profession, and can diversify with a secondary profession or a second attribute line. Onslaught, though strippable, provides the same benefit as [[Primal Rage]. Excellent ability to chase, kite, and spike, bundled up into one. Yeah, it's high recharge and it's not 100% maintainable, but consider a skill like [[Wastrel's Collapse] which is the same recharge. It's different, but it's quality.

Problems:

First off, [[Natural Healing]. I entertained [[Dwayna's Touch], but it's too little heal with only one guaranteed enchantment. [[Natural Healing] does a decent enough job of healing, and the energy cost is annoying, but with 4 regen pips and all cheap skills on the bar, it's fairly decent. If you're using it while attempting to stay in battle, that's when it gets bad. Suggestions for a different/better self heal would be great.

Secondly, stripping of [[Onslaught]. While it doesn't render you ineffective, it does diminish the effectiveness of the build. Still, a poorly used Wastrel's or [[Aura of Displacement] takes away effectiveness of the build and has a similar recharge. The spike, however, still goes through without the elite, just not as effectively. As a bonus, you can spam Natural Healing while waiting for recharge of Onslaught and therefore staying close to your target while it recharges.

Any thoughts/comments are appreciated. More than anything, this was a surprisingly effective mess-around with an elite I've never used.

I wasn't aware that [onslaught] is unused. Pvxwiki has lots of A/D builds with it.

Wiki didnt like it; alas, the people i killed didnt either :P
they ignorantly thought "30second recharge IAS=garbage; cant spike without it >.<, i only used that when it charged, so...it doesnt ruin the chain if u dont use it..

If you're gonna use [way of the empty palm] and [expose defenses], shouldn't [repeating strike] be in there somewhere? I kinda think that would do more harm than [blades of steel].

it's a spike build-not a pewpew build. it kills squishies in one go. warriors take a bit more auto attack but still go down

Dagger Mastery 12+1+1
Deadly Arts 10+1
Critical Strikes 8(+1)

= optimal attributes.

Glaring weaknesses:
- no IMS.
- Shadow Step with aftercast.
- 15 sec spike recharge.
- the fact that you don't need Elite energy management.
- no shutdown (read: KDs)

on Lightning Reflexes: not a bad choice. Whether the block chance makes up for the high cost and terrible recharge is subject for debate.

Suggested fix:
- Swap out Expose for Siphon Speed; backup Hex to even out your chances in the mobility department.

Ignore Repeating Strike and anyone suggesting its use.

Any reason you're running this instead of 11/10/10? Any breakpoints hit?

No breakpoints. Just maxed Dagger Mastery while keeping Crit Strikes 8+.
